An aerobridge, also known as jetway or gangway is a covered walkway which connects the aircraft to the passenger terminal through the gate.
Gangways are used while boarding or de-boarding passengers. Using the aerobridge helps to save a lot of time, as compared to the coach/bus where the passengers will have to be transferred in batches from the passenger terminal to the aircraft parked on the apron.In some cases however, in smaller airports to be precise, passengers walk all the way to the aircraft!
