An aerodrome
is simply any area of land or water designed for the taking off and landing of
aircraft. Airports and military air
bases or stations are types of aerodromes. Aerodromes are sometimes referred to
as airstrips; therefore they can be used synonymously. Whether or not the
operations involve passengers, cargo or mail, the name remains the same. Aerodromes
in Ghana include the Paga airstrip, Kpong airstrip, Ho airstrip, the Kotoka
International Airport, Sunyani Airport, Tamale airport, just to mention a few.
