Aviation Word Of The Day - Drone

Drones are known by the official term 'Unmanned Aeriel Vehicles' (UAVs). Unmanned in the sense that, drones are remotely controlled by somebody on the ground.
Fascinatinating huh? In a nutshell, Drones are robotic nonpiloted aircraft which are controlled from a distance. They are often  pre-programmed to perform a specific task.
Drones have varying purposes. From military to agriculture to God knows what!

For example; drones can be used for surveillance purposes-usually by the millitary for spying during various missions,at the same time, can also be used to capture great shots when being used for aeriel photography.
Another area making good use of drones is the agricultural sector. No body has been left behind.Farmers also use drones to spray their crops with chemicals like pesticides, insecticides and the likes.
