Aviation Word Of The Day - Track

We cannot talk about an aircraft's Course and heading and leave out the track.Track is defined as the actual path of the aircraft above the ground,as opposed to course; which is intended. The track of an airborne aircraft may or may not be the same as the desired course.
It's simple. The course is what's intended or planned, whereas the track is the actual path that is taken.
